For many years, the commercial awning and shade industry has seen an increasing demand for an acrylic fabric that is both fire-retardant and has superior performance under extreme weather conditions. Previous attempts to provide such a solution have fallen short, using dangerous topical treatments that eventually lost their fire retardant properties over time. Recsystem® FR is the first 100% solution-dyed acrylic fabric to embody safe and lasting fire-retardant and highly water resistant performance.
Lab-Tested and Proven
Recsystem FR is woven with inherently fire-retardant modified acrylic yarn, certified to meet all relevant FR codes. We add a proprietary one ounce, clear coat to the underside that makes the fabric virtually waterproof when properly installed. Recent laboratory testing shows Recsystem FR to achieve high impermeability with a hydrostatic head rating of over 1000 mm. That means when an awning is installed properly with enough pitch/angle to carry the rain water off the fabric, the customer should not experience leaking nor misting through the fabric in a heavy downpour.
