Premium Fabrics for Awnings and Sun Protection
Recacril® fabrics, expertly crafted from solution-dyed acrylic yarns, are specially engineered to meet the highest standards for awnings and sun protection products. Combining durability, colorfastness, and weather resistance, they provide long-lasting performance and superior protection against the elements.
Our advanced spinning and weaving techniques are meticulously optimized to deliver canvases with exceptional tensile and tear strength, while also ensuring a superior surface finish ideal for the application of the Infinity Plus Process high-tech coating.
The Infinity Plus Process is an exclusive Non-PFAS finishing technology that provides outstanding water and dirt repellency, enhanced dimensional stability, and long-lasting durability, preserving the fabric’s aesthetic appeal throughout the product’s lifespan.
Recacril® Canvas Handling and Quality
Recacril® canvases are designed for ease of handling, featuring a consistently firm hand and excellent flat lay that simplify cutting, sewing, and fabrication. The fabric’s tight weave and smooth surface enhance printing quality, promoting superior vinyl adhesion when using heat transfer equipment. For screen printing, the dense yarn structure limits ink penetration, resulting in sharper, more precisely defined images.
Throughout production, Recacril® canvases undergo rigorous quality control and fully comply with the UNE-EN 13561:2004+A1:2009 standard, ensuring they meet all performance and safety requirements for awnings.

Recacril® Warranty
RECASENS provides a 10-year warranty from the date of installation, covering Recacril® fabrics against decomposition, significant loss of strength, and fading. This warranty applies exclusively to fabrics that are regularly maintained and used under normal environmental conditions.
At RECASENS’ discretion, the company will either replace the defective fabric free of charge or reimburse the invoice value of the affected fabric section. Please note, this warranty does not cover any additional costs or compensation.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
- Improper maintenance or the use of unsuitable cleaning products or tools. The use of detergents, chemicals, solvents, scrapers, or other instruments that may damage the fabric fibers is prohibited.
- Normal wear, aging, and tear under typical use.
- Soiling caused by animals.
- Accidents, natural events, or repairs due to these or related causes.
- Faulty fabrication or assembly, user mishandling, product projections, hanging objects on the fabric, impacts, road incidents, vandalism, burns (including cigarette burns), or fire.
- Lightning strikes or extreme climatic or environmental conditions.
- Costs associated with mechanical components such as hardware, mechanisms, and structures, as well as manufacturing, assembly, or installation expenses.
This warranty becomes effective on the installation date of awnings, curtains, or any other products made with RECASENS canvases.
As RECASENS canvases form a component of the final product, please contact your installer or distributor if you identify any fabric defects.
Maintenance for Recacril® Fabrics
The advanced Infinity Plus finish provides RECASENS canvases with long-lasting protection against mold, along with excellent water repellency. This ensures durable awnings that effectively shield against both sun and rain for many years.
However, accumulation of dust, airborne pollutants, organic debris, and general dirt can diminish this protection and shorten the fabric’s lifespan. Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential to preserve its performance.
Routine Maintenance
- Clean your canvas monthly using a low-pressure hose to prevent dirt buildup.
- Always ensure the fabric is completely dry before closing or storing the awning.
- The awning may remain open during rain, as rainwater helps wash away dirt. If rolling it up while wet is necessary, unroll it as soon as possible and allow it to dry thoroughly.
- During extended periods of rain, it is advisable to keep the awning rolled up.
Thorough Cleaning (Every 2–3 Years)
- Gently brush off loose dirt and dust with a soft brush; avoid stiff brushes to protect the fiber surface.
- Rinse the awning with clean water using a low-pressure hose only; avoid high-pressure washing.
- Prepare a solution of solvent-free soap and warm water (not exceeding 40ºC) and apply to dissolve dirt and debris.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residues.
- Allow the awning to air dry completely in a sheltered, wind-protected area.
Fungal Stain Removal
Recacril® fabrics resist fungal growth, but fungi may develop on embedded dirt. To remove stains:
- Brush off excess dust and dirt with a soft brush. NEVER brush with stiff brushes as that will damage the surface of the fabric fibers.
- Prepare a solution of 10% household bleach, 20% solvent-free neutral detergent and 70% water.
- Apply the solution to the fabric, and leave it on for 15-20 minutes maximum.
- Rinse with clean water several times, as residual bleach could damage the fabric.
- Let the awning air dry, protected from the wind, until it is completely dry.
- Repeat the process if necessary.
Environmental Reminder
Please dispose of cleaning chemicals and wastewater responsibly, as bleach and other cleaning agents can harm plants, animals, and ecosystems.
Consumer Information
Minor imperfections may occur during material handling, preparation, or installation of the awning.
Whitish marbled streaks, known as “crazing,” can appear on the fabric surface during folding, handling, or fabrication. This effect results from micro-fractures in the finish caused by folding, which alters how light refracts off the fabric. Crazing is more common in lighter-colored fabrics. Additionally, small folds may form along seams when rolling the canvas due to the fabric’s increased thickness at these points.
Small folds or ripples in the fabric, known as "waffling," can appear along the seams when the canvas is rolled up on a retractable awning, as the increased thickness at the seams creates uneven tension across the fabric.
These natural irregularities are inherent to the manufacturing process and do not impact the fabric’s performance or durability. Therefore, they are not considered defects and are not the responsibility of the installer or manufacturer.
